The summer is always full of biking events. As A Cape Cod motorcycle accident lawyer I appreciated the recent gathering for the Blessing Of The Bikes.
Last month on May 5th, The Cape Cod & Islands Chapter of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club held it’s 37th Annual Blessing of the Bikes.
The event was an on-site blessing and was held at West Dennis Beach.
Participants made donations that were contributed by the Blue Knights to The American Cancer Society, The Blue Knights Special Fund (contributing to fellow officers involved in motorcycle accidents), The Cape Cod Community College Scholarship and The Cape Cod Times Needy Fund.
The event features refreshments, vendors setting up tables, and of course the blessing.
The Rev. David Akin of St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth blessed the hundreds of motorcyclists that gathered on the beach. The Blue Knights have always had great success with the event with up to 1,500 motorcycles traveling from every state in New England to participate in the Blessing, and an estimated 2,000-2,250 people in attendance. If you weren’t able to attend the event this year, be sure to check it out next year as it continues to grow in popularity.
